Plural Deep Dive is a work-in-progress project that's very special to my heart. This website is dedicated to compiling the (rather dark) history of the online plurality community. 'Plurality' is the experience of being more than one person. This has a history of being pathologized, most prominently associated with a posttraumatic condition called dissociative identity disorder (DID). However, many individuals have come forward to say that the experience of plurality can be healthy, enjoyable, and doesn't have to be tied to any disorder.
This website is dedicated to and intended for the members of the online plurality and DID/OSDD communities. It isn't necessarily for the folks who are looking to learn more about plurality and dissociative disorders. If that's what you're looking for, please check out my resources page!
Both plurality and dissociative disorders are chronically misunderstood and marked with disbelief. There are also many different views on these experiences. I believe that this is why the online communities for people who experience these things are fraught with discourse (commonly called "syscourse").
With this project, I aim to share knowledge in a respectful and sensitive way so that users can easily access information and understand different viewpoints on contentious subjects. I also hope to point those in need towards some helpful resources. All writing here is my own unless credited otherwise. Feel free to share anything with proper credit!
